Not long after meeting Caitlin and Joel, I realized that the similarities between us were uncanny, starting with the fact that the bride and I share a first name! The two were also getting married at my wedding venue, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, close to exactly one year later! If that weren’t enough, Caitlin had the same dress designer (Hayley Paige), and they chose the same last song (“Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC)! Needless to say, I was pretty pumped for their museum nuptials!
Shortly after the ladies arrived at the museum, Caitlin got into her dress with the help of her mom! She then made her way outside to find Joel for their first look. There may have been a few tears, but I won’t tell you from who! ;) After the two shared a few memorable moments and dried their eyes, the wedding party joined them out in the park to take some leisurely photos and enjoy the beautiful October weather!
One of the many perks of getting married at DMNS is that you get to take some photos in the museum before the ceremony, which is exactly what the pair did! They were dead set on being captured in front of the T-Rex and the photos certainly didn’t disappoint! Where else can you share your wedded bliss with a fossil?!
Caitlin & Joel chose to have their ceremony on the museum’s terrace, overlooking city park and the Denver city skyline! They needed very little decor help but had a gorgeous garland marking their “altar” from Little Shop Floral. After securing their love lock and sending the keys floating into the city on balloons, they made their way outside for family photos while guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the West Atrium!
After cocktail hour, guests were invited to make their way up to the 2nd floor of the space to enjoy both a taco and tater tot bar, more refreshments, and just a touch of taxidermy. They had the option to sit in the Australia and Pacific Islands exhibit, wander through Space Odyssey, or enjoy the floor to ceiling views of the park!
After more eating, chatting, and exploring, guests welcomed Caitlin & Joel to the dance floor for their first dances! The dancing continued with the dance floor opening up for guests for the remainder of the evening. In addition to a cutting cake, the museum provided everyone with a decadent dessert bar and not one morsel was left at the end of the night! The happy newlyweds were then whisked off to enjoy their suite at The Oxford while guests waved LED wands and cheered!
