It’s common knowledge at this point that flowers are to be expected at weddings! I could sit and look at beautiful arrangements all day long, but that’s not true for every couple! Maybe you never envisioned your wedding day to be overflowing with florals or maybe you’re trying to be more eco-conscious. Whatever the reason, if you’re considering skipping the blooms all together, there are plenty of other ways to knock your wedding out of the park!
Bouquets
You may be thinking, “okay, I can handle non-floral centerpieces, but what about my bouquet?” There are a few ways you can go about creating a stunning non-floral bouquet! If you’ve ever frequented Hobby Lobby (I know I have) you have probably come across their array of feathers and other bobbles that lend themselves well to bouquets. I made my own bouquet and my bridesmaids’ bouquets out of these decor pieces and was so happy with how they turned out! If that’s not your thing, consider other eye catching options like lanterns, broaches, even tambourines!
Centerpieces
When it comes to your centerpieces, the sky really is the limit when thinking non-floral! I’ve seen birdcages, stacked books, candles galore, other natural elements like wood, and many more! You can pull inspiration from your venue, what you and your significant other love to do together, or the theme of your event in general! Maybe your wedding is at an art gallery and you plan to use works of art to spruce up your table or maybe you’re honoring your pets at your wedding and have found some incredible doggie themed decor! Ask your planner/designer to help you if you’re having a hard time getting started.
Extras
Some couples use flowers to highlight just about every aspect of their wedding including the guestbook table, the dessert display & the ceremony space, but that doesn’t have to be the case! Once you decide on your centerpieces and theme, these pieces will start to fall into place. Feel free to consult the internet but be careful not to overwhelm yourself!
