While we’ve had the pleasure of planning multiple Indian fusion events in the past, Soniya & Vam’s August celebration was (almost) all things traditional, and ALL things beautiful! We got to join in on the fun on day 2 and 3, and were lucky enough to live vicariously through their photos of day 1! ;)
Della Terra was the home for our Haldi ceremony, an incredible prewedding event that is celebrated with closest family and friends. Soniya & Vam’s communities came together to apply turmeric paste (haldi) on the bride and groom's face and body. Showering the couple with flowers is also tradition! The night was followed by lots of dining and dancing, and one of the weekend’s killer outfit changes.
Lionscrest Manor was our home for the final day, the WEDDING! The celebrations commenced with Vam’s Baraat ceremony, complete with a dohl player and classic car! Soniya & Vam participated in multiple hours of ceremony traditions including the kanya aagaman (or bride entrance), the jai mala (or exchanging of garland necklaces), and the Saptapadi or Seven Steps. Guests had pre-made breakfasts and drinks to enjoy during the ceremonies, and after some mingling and lunch, everyone took a break before returning for dinner (& more dancing)! We adored our time with Soniya, Vam, and their families, and will be reminiscing about August 2023 for years to come! <3
